For android, there are two dictionary apps. They are Merriam-Webster and Dictionary.com. Both of them are good apps but what is the better dictionary? Let's talk about it here.

So what's with Merriam-Webster?

  1. It doesn't need Internet connection
  2. The definitions are OK
  3. It shows definitions faster than Dictionary.com
  4. Has a Word of the Day but needs Internet connection

So what's with Dictionary.com?
  1. It needs internet connection but you can use it offline if you download the offline dictionary
  2. Has a translator but it must have internet connection
  3. Has a Word of the Day daily as long as you have the offline dictionary
  4. It has clear definitions
Conclusion:
I would choose Dictionary.com. It might not be faster than Merriam-Webster but its definitions are more clear and understandable. If I can't check it without connection, I can just download the offline dictionary.
